Located on a long, sheltered bay on the northern tip of Cephalonia, lovely Fiskardho is unique on the island in that it was largely spared by the 1953 earthquake that devastated most of the other island villages. As a result, its waterfront is the only one here that still features the pastel-painted Venetian-style houses that once prevailed. A popular excursion is a boat ride into the sunken cavern and sky-blue subterranean Melissani Lake.
