Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye has been the seat of the Chiefs of Clan Macleod for over 800 years. Opened to the public in 1933, it has received visitors from around the world, drawn by its acres of gardens, its dramatic setting -- overlooking a loch and backed by the jagged peaks of the Black Cuillin -- and the treasures of antiquity within, including the enigmatic Fairy Flag, whose origins are wrapped in myth and whose supernatural powers are the stuff of legends.
