Bonne Bay (Woody Point), Newfoundland, Canada
Bonne Bay is one of the picturesque small communities that add human scale and color to the magnificence of Newfoundland’s Gros Morne National Park. The brightly painted houses and carefully cultivated properties are set on a narrow coastline backed by the soaring fjords and looming peaks that UNESCO has designated a World Heritage Site. Whale watching and hiking are popular with visitors. But the most common pastime is simply staring in awe at the sculpted landscape that is the northernmost end of the great Appalachian mountain range.
