Discover the vibrant spirit of Fortaleza, Brazil’s fifth-largest city and one of the country's most dynamic coastal capitals. This panoramic tour showcases the city’s rich history, architectural treasures, and local culture. Visit the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral, admire the elegant José de Alencar Theater, and browse the colorful stalls of EMCETUR, a former prison transformed into a bustling handicraft market. Along the way, enjoy a scenic drive past Fortaleza’s palm-lined beaches, the Mucuripe Lighthouse, and through the upscale Aldeota district, offering a glimpse into modern life in Ceará. Your excursion concludes with views of the Espigão de Pedras Bridge before returning to the pier.
Please Note:
This approximately 4-hour excursion is conducted by coach with moderate walking at each stop. The journey includes a scenic 45-minute drive from the pier through Fortaleza, passing the Mucuripe Lighthouse (no stop), followed by visits to the Metropolitan Cathedral (approximately 20 minutes), José de Alencar Theater (approximately 1 hour), and EMCETUR/Central Market (approximately 1 hour). A final panoramic drive via the Espigão de Pedras Bridge returns guests to the pier. The EMCETUR handicraft market is closed on Sunday afternoons. Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for uneven surfaces in some historic areas.
