Steeple Jason, Falkland Islands

Floating among the vast ocean, Steeple Jason Island stands as a testament to nature's grandeur. Its landscape is a drama of contrasts, with twin pinnacles soaring to 1,000 feet on either side of the island, connected by a slender neck of rock and tussock grass. The island is flowing with an abundance of wildlife that calls this island home.

Reaching Steeple Jason is an adventure in itself, but the journey is well worth the effort. As a Nature Reserve and private property of the Wildlife Conservation Society, this island has been meticulously preserved and protected. It proudly hosts the world's largest colony of Black-browed albatross—a sight that never fails to captivate.

But the albatross aren't the only inhabitants here. The island is dotted with striated caracaras, skuas, and southern giant petrels, while colonies of gentoo penguins waddle across the island.
