From the hilly coastal capital city, the itinerary includes the city of Porto, a wine tour of the Douro Valley, and the neighborhoods of Coimbra, home to Santa Clara Monastery and prestigious Coimbra University. In Fatima,  guests will observe the devotion of many pilgrims, visit the Chapel of Apparitions, and experience the Sanctuary. A panoramic drive through Lisbon will reveal many picturesque sites and scenes.

Pre-Cruise Itinerary Overview

DAY 1:
Arrive in Lisbon and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the day at leisure, and a welcome dinner at JNCQUOI AVENIDA restaurant or similar before your overnight stay.

DAY 2:
This tour will start from your hotel in Lisbon in the morning and head north of the country to the famous city of Porto. On the way, you will stop and visit Fatima, the most important religious site in Portugal. Visit the Chapel of Apparitions and take some time to experience the environment of the Sanctuary. Here you will have some free time to have lunch on your own before continuing the journey to Porto.

After arrival, the tour begins with a nice drive through the city and along the ocean, passing by Casa da Musica, Castelo do Queijo (Cheese Castle), the trendy Foz district and Arrabida Bridge. Visit the historic center of Porto, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and admire most important monuments such as Porto Cathedral, the City Hall, Aliados Avenue, Clerigos Tower, Sao Bento Train Station, Lello Bookshop, Bolsa Palace and much more. Finish at the Riverside, Ribeira where you can enjoy the superb atmosphere.

Cross the Douro River to the Cais of Gaia and visit a Port Wine Cellar for a wine tasting experience. Learn all about the production, harvesting and transportation of this unique wine. Conclude the day by having dinner at local restaurant Cantinho Avillez or similar before your overnight stay.

DAY 3:
The tour will start early in the morning with a pick up at your hotel on a comfortable minibus. Enjoy the views from this admiral private tour through the center of Douro Valley and Douro Wine region (Peso da Regua) — the oldest wine region in Portugal and in the world.

On your way towards Douro Valley, drive past many renowned wine estates and spectacular vineyards. Admire the stunning scenery and appreciate the Douro region which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Quinta da Pacheca Winery to learn about their renowned wine, enjoy wine tasting and have lunch. Return to your hotel in Porto and enjoy dinner on your own before retiring for the evening.

DAY 4:
Pass by Coimbra as you travel back to Lisbon. In Coimbra, you will have the chance to see the wonderful university and the Santa Clara Monastery. The prestigious Coimbra University, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, blends historical buildings with active student life. Upon your arrival to Lisbon, enjoy a panoramic drive through the city prior to joining the ship. Drive past the main sites of the city like Belem Quarter, Park Eduard VII, Rossio, Liberdade Square.
