Relax on the scenic 75-minute panoramic drive to Ine — a fishing village renowned for its traditional funaya boathouses.
Take a guided stroll through the town and check out the Edo-period funaya, whose first floor serves as a boat garage and the second floor as living quarters. Step inside one of these boathouses to see its simple construction up close.
During your walk, admire the quiet seaside scenery of Ine — a city whose culture is profoundly tied to the sea.
Board a private water taxi (a small sightseeing boat) for a 30-minute cruise. From the water, you can view the boathouses up close and appreciate the village from a waterside perspective.
Please note: Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. The boat is open-air — you may get wet. Bring rain gear. Tour sequence may vary. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Tour requires walking approximately 90 minutes. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Bring local currency or credit cards, as most vendors do not accept US dollars. Unfamiliar accents can be challenging; feel free to ask your guide to repeat or elaborate on information, and to speak more slowly so you can fully comprehend and converse. You must remove your shoes at one or more location(s).
