Firstly you will Visit Mikimoto Pearl Island — the birthplace of the cultured pearl. Learn about founder Kokichi Mikimoto during a tour of the museum, and follow the growth of a pearl from the moment the shell is surgically implanted to the time it's harvested. If possible, you may also catch Ama, traditional women divers in white outfits, in live action as they demonstrate how they dive into the sea to harvest pearl oysters. Enjoy time to browse in the gift shop .
Sitting just off the far tip of the peninsula, Kashikojima is the largest island in Ago Bay. Renowned for its pearl cultivation, you may see the many oyster rafts floating in the water as your captain makes his way around the island and jagged coastline, during Kashikojima cruise.
Please note:
Tour order may vary. Depending on season or condition you may not be able to see pearl oyster rafts.
