A gentle bike ride, great wines, and stunning scenery await you in the Marlborough wine district's Wairau Valley.
Leave Picton by van and head to the Vines Village on the Golden Mile in the heart of the world-renowned Marlborough wine region. Enjoy your first "cellar door" (tasting room) experience here. Sample three wonderful Marlborough varietals, including the ultra-famous Sauvignon Blanc.
Gear up with a bike and helmet, and set out on a leisurely, guided ride to two more of Marlborough's boutique wineries. You will stop along the way to learn about the vineyards, the Marlborough wine region, and some of the most popular varietals grown here. The biking is flat and easy, and is a lovely way to connect with each of the wineries.
At the second winery, taste a full range of Marlborough's wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
From here, you will travel along quiet country roads and cycle paths to the final winery. Here, in a private garden room, enjoy a curated wine tasting accompanied by a delicious lunch of fresh fare from this foodie province .
Please note: Biking is weather permitting. In inclement weather, a van transfer will be substituted. Tour visits three of the following wineries based on availability: Whitehaven, Gibson Bridge, Forrest Estate, and Framingham. A van follows behind during the cycling portion to pick up anyone not wishing to pedal. Minimum age is 18 years. Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18 years, with a companion aged 21 years or older. You are welcome to bring any on-tour alcohol purchases (beer, wine, spirits) back to the ship with you and to enjoy them on board. There is no corkage fee.
