Take the scenic route to Valletta - the present-day capital. Visit the monumental St John's Co-Cathedral, and enjoy a walking tour past landmarks that include the Grand Master's Palace, the new Renzo Piano Parliament building and Our Lady of Victories Church.Walk past the Auberge de Castille - today the office of the Prime Minister - to your last stop at the Barrakka Gardens, perched high above the Grand Harbour. The gardens provide a shady retreat from the bustle of the city, and the balcony has one of the best views in Malta. You will also have some free time to enjoy Valletta at your own pace before heading back to the ship.
Notes: St John's Co-Cathedral is closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays - a visit to the Grand Masters Palace will substitute. The order of the tour may vary.
Modest attire is required; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered. Shorts and heels are not allowed. Wear comfortable walking shoes; bring a sun hat.
