Your journey begins with a comfortable drive from Mandal to Vennesla, where you'll set out on a 2 ½-mile (4 km) walk along the Tømmerrenna Timber Slide. This fascinating timber slide, once used to transport logs downriver, offers a glimpse into Norway’s rich industrial history among beautiful natural landscapes. As you walk, you’ll marvel at the surrounding forest and scenic views while learning about the history of timber rafting.
After the walk, take a well-deserved break with a traditional Norwegian sandwich as you relax and revel in the peaceful surroundings.
Next, you'll head to Kristiansand for some free time to explore the city at your own pace.
Wander through the charming streets, visit the local shops, or simply enjoy the harbor views before returning to Mandal.
