Day 1 (L/D) Riga - Vilnius
Set off from Riga, an ancient Hanseatic city founded in 1201 on the banks of the Daugava River. Known as "Little Paris," the city center is one of the largest and ornate examples of Art Nouveau expression in Europe, with more than a third of its buildings showcasing that particular style.
A panoramic drive brings you to Alberta Street, considered the epitome of Art Nouveau in Riga. Each house is a different and singular construction achievement dating from the early 20th century. Nowhere else in Riga will you see such a concentration of architectural fantasy.
Continue along the boulevards of Riga, passing 14th-century Riga Castle and further examples of Art Nouveau architecture.
Leave the coach in front of the Opera House for a walk through Latvian history. Stroll through courtyards to see 13th-century St Peter's Church, St John's Church, a part of the restored city wall, and medieval John's Yard.
In the heart of Old Riga, view Dome Cathedral Square. See the iconic buildings of Riga, including the House of Blackheads and the historic Riga Stock Exchange — now the Riga Art Museum.
Break for lunch in the Old Town.
A five-hour drive west brings you to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Along the way, you'll visit the Hill of Crosses — one of the major pilgrimage sites of Lithuania.
Settle into a five-star hotel in the Old Town of Vilnius. You are on your own to take a short walk through Vilnius by night — a perfect way to end the day after enjoying dinner at the hotel's fine-dining restaurant.

Day 2 (B/L) Vilnius - Klaipeda
After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of Vilnius acquaints you with the atmosphere of the historic Old Town.
Vilnius is famous for its more than 40 churches in various architectural styles. Within the Old Town, St Anne's Church, built in the 15th century, is a superb example of Flamboyant Gothic Architecture. Its facade has remained remarkably unchanged for five centuries. Another must-see is the church of St Peter & St Paul — one of the few restored examples of White Baroque in Europe.
A panoramic drive through Vilnius takes in Uzupis — the city's Bohemian heart. In the main Cathedral square, view the 15th-century Cathedral that was the coronation site of Lithuania's Grand Dukes.
A short walk away, the Presidential Palace is a notable piece of Lithuanian Classicism, and Vilnius University, one of the oldest in Eastern Europe, features a campus composed of thirteen quaint courtyards.
Walk through the Jewish Quarter towards the Gates of Dawn in the original defensive walls.
After lunch, board the coach for a four-hour drive through Lithuanian countryside to Klaipeda to rejoin your ship.
Please note: The KGB Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; an alternative museum will be substituted. Tour requires considerable walking in Vilnius and Riga. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, and many steps. Participants can stay on the coach at any time or choose to walk less; however, this will mean missing some of the attractions.
