Join our Expeditions Team for a Zodiac Cruise near Jorge Montt Glacier, on the Northern End of the Southern Patagonian Icefield.
This Icefield is the largest accumulation of glacier ice in the Southern Hemisphere outside Antarctica. Jorge Montt is one of the many glaciers of an extensive network covering large areas and flowing down in multiple directions.
Jorge Montt Glacier is located inside the Chilean Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, just south of the small settlement Caleta Tortel. It is named after Jorge Montt Alvarez, who was admiral of the Chilean Navy and Chile's President.
