Take in the magnificent views of San Miguel as you pass small, picturesque villages and farmhouses built of undecorated lava. Drive to the rim of a volcanic crater for panoramic views of the two Crater Lakes — one green, the other blue — that inhabit the volcano's caldera.
Enjoy a photo stop along the shoreline of the modern-day Sete Cidades, a small village located in the southwest portion of the crater.
As you journey down the crater, view Santiago Lake, another of the azure bodies of water in this volcanic landscape.
