Santiago is one of the most monumental towns in Spain, boasting a magnificent cathedral surrounded by beautiful Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque buildings. Believed to be where Christ's Apostle, St James, is buried, Santiago attracts half a million pilgrims each year, eager to see the great shrine containing the relics. Step inside the remarkable Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, dating from 1122, and climb up approximately 90 steps to the cathedral's rooftop. Have your camera ready to capture the magnificent vista that awaits. Your guide provides insights into the history of Santiago and of the cathedral as you look out over this medieval city.
