Discover Sardinia's world-famous Costa Smeralda — the Emerald Coast — taking the "little train on wheels" to Porto Cervo's coach parking area.
Board the coach for a panoramic drive along the Costa Smeralda toward San Pantaleo in the Olbia area. This part of Sardinia has been inhabited for thousands of years; indeed, the ruins of the Olbia-Tibula Roman road still dot the landscape.
San Pantaleo is a popular destination, as it is one of the most picturesque towns in Sardinia. Great granite monoliths loom behind the village, creating a spectacular and very striking tableau. Small houses, villas and churches huddle beneath them. You'll have 30 minutes here to explore on your own.
Next up is a break at the Baja Sardinia resort area — a wide bay with a beach, crystal-clear waters, and fine sand. Enjoy 40 minutes here to take in the stunning panorama that includes the La Maddalena archipelago.
Return to Porto Cervo — the heart of the Emerald Coast.
Please note: Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Bring local currency, as most vendors do not accept US dollars or credit cards.
