Travel by coach to the largest Cistercian Monastery in Europe — Poblet Monastery. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is surrounded by a picturesque forest. The monastery once held special protection under the Catalan Kings but, in the 19th century, the monks were forced to leave the site under new laws of ecclesiastical dispossession. After a period of disrepair, work began in 1940 to restore the monastery. Today, you'll have the chance to stroll along its walkways and through the chapel and gardens. You may also be lucky enough to spot some of the monks who still live here.
Continue to Montblanc for a guided walking tour. Marvel at the fascinating heritage of this medieval ducal city. See the Temple of Sant Miquel, the Church and Hospital of Santa Magdalena, the Royal Palace, and the remains of the Jewish Quarter.
Afterward, enjoy some free time before returning to Tarragona.
Please note: Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, and steps.
