Board a motorcoach for a short drive through Klaipeda and take a 10-minute ferry ride across the Curonian Lagoon to the Curonian Spit. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its unspoiled nature.
Your destination, Juodkrante (Blackshore) is the oldest fishermen's village on the Spit -- now a resort that has retained its old-world charm. Pass Amber Bay, where amber was mined in the 19th century, and admire the traditional 100-year-old fishermen's homes.
The Hill of Witches presents a collection of witches, devils and fairytale monsters, all carved from oak. This is a special place where your imagination comes alive.
Back in Juodkrante, you will walk along the lagoon's shoreline. Notice the modern sculptures and stop to see the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Gallery of Weather Vanes.
Before returning to the pier, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of a restaurant on the shore of the Curoanian lagoon. Try local specialties, such as smoked fish, garlic bread and traditional white cheese, with a glass of a traditional soft drink made from brown bread, or Lithuanian beer.
Please note: The Hill of Witches has four steps at the entrance and a gravel path with uneven surface and inclines. There are no ramps or elevators. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair. Participants must be in good physical condition. Bring insect repellent. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
