Set off from the pier on an introductory walk through lower Jamestown.
You'll enter the main town square through a stone archway constructed in 1832. Your knowledgeable guide provides insight into many historical buildings and their uses over the years.
On your walk, you will see several notable landmarks, including the Castle Square and Gardens, Jacob's Ladder staircase and St James Church -- the oldest Anglican church in the Southern Hemisphere.
Please Note: This tour involves some moderate walking, slight inclines, and uneven surfaces. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The level of guide experience varies on St Helena due to the remoteness of its location. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up.
