Travel about 100 miles south of Puerto Madryn to Punta Tombo, home to the largest Magellanic penguin colony in continental South America. From September to March, around 2 million penguins gather here to breed, and by November, you may see chicks emerging from their nests. Walk among thousands of nests and observe these remarkable birds in their natural habitat.
This tour includes approximately 5 hours of travel time and a lunch featuring regional dishes. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as some roads are unpaved and can be dusty and bumpy. Dust may enter the vehicle through ventilation.
Please note:
Penguins are not afraid of humans, but guests must keep their distance—bites can cause serious injury. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. The distance of the trail is approx. 1.6 miles.
