You will be transferred to New Plymouth’s i-Site, where your tour guide will await your arrival. You will be led by a docent from the Puke Ariki Library-Museum facility, this easy-paced walk presents New Plymouth's interesting history amid the backdrop of the area’s natural beauty.
Stroll through the central city as your guide relates events, developments and anecdotes. Learn how the fledging community began and how it grew from the time of the early settlers' arrival in New Plymouth in 1841 into a viable community. Times of desperate isolation and bloody land battles, colorful characters and small triumphs, national personalities and ordinary people have all shaped this charming small city.
Watch for some intriguing buildings along the way – New Plymouth has some noteworthy architecture.
The tour ends at the Shuttle stop, where you can return back to Port at your own leisure time.
