Experience some of Northland’s most treasured natural and cultural attractions on a relaxed journey that combines wildlife, history and scenic beauty. Travel to Kiwi North Museum, Kiwi House and Heritage Park, where you will gain a deeper understanding of New Zealand’s unique native species and rich heritage.
At Kiwi North Museum, Kiwi House and Heritage Park, visit the purpose-built kiwi enclosure for a rare opportunity to observe these iconic birds displaying their natural behaviours. Learn about the remarkable tuatara, often referred to as New Zealand’s living dinosaur, as well as native geckos and other fascinating wildlife. Explore the museum and enjoy free time to wander the grounds at your own pace before rejoining your coach.
Your exploration continues to Whangarei Falls, one of the region’s most picturesque natural attractions. Take in impressive views of the cascading waterfall and the surrounding native forest from the viewing area, offering excellent opportunities for photography and appreciation of the landscape.
The final stop is Whangarei Town Basin, a lively waterfront precinct where you will have free time to explore independently. Browse local attractions, visit cafés and restaurants with opportunity to purchase lunch or a snack, or simply enjoy the atmosphere before meeting your coach for the return journey to the wharf.
