Journey inland by coach to Oletta -- a small, terraced hillside village. Here, you'll take in the lovely vistas over a countryside packed with olive groves, vineyards, and pastures -- small squares of property bordered by dry-stone walls. You can see St Florent in the distance.
The road climbs to the San Stefano Pass, through chestnut and olive groves. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views down to the east coast and the Biguglia étang (pool) and across the Agriates Desert to the sea. A sinuous, narrow road climbs up to Teghime Pass where, at an elevation of 1,750 feet, the views are completely different in each direction: to the west you'll see over extensive vineyards to the Gulf of St Florent; to the south, mountains, valleys and the chestnut forests of the Castagniccia; eastwards are Bastia and the sea; and to the north, the mountainous backbone of Cap Corse.
Continue down the final stretch of road into Patrimonio village, dominated by a church with a high steeple, built in 1749. Here, you'll enjoy a taste of traditional Corsican wine before you return to the ship at Bastia.
