Depart the pier for a scenic drive passing the largest castle ruin in Northern Europe, Hammershus, and a former coastal farmer’s village.
Arriving at a local smokehouse, you will have an opportunity to taste a local specialty, smoked herring on rye bread with fresh chives and radishes, all accompanied by a local beer.
Continue along the northern coastal road to Baltic Sea Glass, where you will learn about the art of glass blowing from a local artist.
Your next stop will be in Svaneke, a quaint village dotted with little shops. Visit the first microbrewery founded in Denmark and sample some of their beer. The brewers only use organic ingredients and experiment with local produce such as pine wood, seaweed or fruits and the production contributes to sustainability as the electricity used for the process is generated by the sun.
Re-join your coach for the relaxing drive through the fishing village of Neksø and the city of Aakirkeby en route back to the pier.
Please note: Minimum age 18 years to drink alcohol.
