A scenic panoramic drive brings you to the idyllic town of Kuehlungsborn — a seaside resort with a distinctive vacation atmosphere.
Here you will pause for a piece of cake and a cup of coffee before you board the Molli — a historic narrow-gauge steam train that has connected Bad Doberan and Kuehlungsborn since 1886, and is still in use today.
Puffing along at approximately 22 miles per hour, you will see Europe's longest avenue of linden trees, known as "the green tunnel."
Watch for Heiligendamm (Germany's first seaside resort), where the G8 summit took place in 2007.
Arriving in Bad Doberan, you'll leave the train and reboard your coach. A sightseeing drive through Bad Doberan — the former summer residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg — showcases streets packed with grand examples of Gothic red-brick architecture. Bad Doberan's cathedral is distinguished by its rural setting, rare among medieval churches. It towers above the surrounding meadows and trees unencumbered by narrow urban streets. Built between 1294 and 1368, this awesome Gothic church makes Bad Doberan a popular destination for visitors.
