A 30-minute coach drive brings you to Bruges. On the outskirts of the town, get acquainted with your bicycle and set out for a fun ride through the Belgian countryside. As you head north toward the Dutch border, watch for Damme, canals, windmills, and bunkers.
Escape into the silence and beauty of the flat countryside. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of tree-lined canals, a quaint Flemish village strung along peaceful country lanes, and beautiful polder (low-lying, dike-protected) farmland.
Pause for a sweet treat and a soft drink or coffee/tea at a local pub. From Bruges, the coach returns you to the ship in Zeebrugge.
Please note: Participants must know how to ride a bike. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water and a small backpack. As onboard lunch venues will be closed upon the tour’s return, guests are strongly encouraged to eat a hearty breakfast prior to departure.
