The most remote part of Misty Fjords National Monument awaits you — territory that explorer John Muir classed among the most beautiful places he had ever seen. In this wilderness of more than two million acres, you travel to the narrow far end of the fjord. It is accessible to the Zodiac, but not to larger vessels, so only a privileged few can claim to have seen this marvelous tribute to nature's unbounded majesty.
Make sure you spend time appreciating the sound of silence, and watching for bird rookeries, seals, sea otters and mountain goats, all of whom claim this special corner of the world as their home.
Please note: Tour departs from and returns to the ship. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring binoculars. Wear sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen; bring insect repellent. There are steps to negotiate when (dis)embarking the Zodiac, with assistance offered. Tour generally operates rain or shine, but may be canceled in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Minimum age is 6 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
