This tour, exclusive to Seabourn Guests, begins with a visit to the Tea Garden. View the tea plants here and learn about the challenges and intricacies of growing these shockingly high-maintenance shrubs. Of course, you will also taste the tea grown by dedicated and meticulous farmers whose pride in their work is consistently evident.
A local restaurant serves a Japanese-style lunch accompanied by a selection of teas curated by a Tea Master. The Tea Master personally prepares the tea for each dish and provides detailed tasting guidance that discusses the various aromas, visual characteristics, and taste sensations.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. You must remove your shoes at one or more location(s). Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. You will sit on the floor (mandatory) at the tea garden. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. Bring local currency, as some vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Unfamiliar accents can be challenging; feel free to ask your guide to repeat or elaborate on information, and to speak more slowly so you can fully comprehend and converse. Tour sequence may vary. Traffic can be unpredictable; your patience is greatly appreciated if a delay extends the tour duration.
