Start your day early in Geraldton and set out on a scenic drive north toward Kalbarri. Your companions are the beautiful coastal views and rolling hills surrounding the historic town of Northampton.
The Hawks Head Lookout in Kalbarri National Park offers stunning vistas of the Murchison River Gorge. Take in the dramatic landscape and snap some photos to capture the moment.
Next, head to the Kalbarri Skywalk — an engineering marvel that extends over the edge of the gorge. Here, the local Nanda people welcome you and explain their connection to the land.
Stay at the Skywalk for a bush-food-inspired lunch with regional flavors showcasing local culinary tradition. The lobster (or "crayfish" as it is known locally) on the menu is very much a sustainably caught resource, so you can relax and enjoy. The combination of stunning views and delicious food and cultural connection makes this a memorable dining experience.
Continue your waterfront journey past dramatic sea cliffs. It will be crystal clear why this is known as "the Shipwreck Coast" — an unfortunate reputation offset by breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.
On a leisurely walk along the clifftops, breathe in the fresh sea air, and watch for dolphins and whales that often frolic in the waters below.
Don't miss a view of Hutt Lagoon, famous for its vibrant pink hue. The lake's color changes with the light, creating a surreal and magical atmosphere. Spend some time taking photos and marveling at this natural wonder before returning to Geraldton.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Tour sequence may vary.
