Enjoy visiting two very special places where botanicals are the theme – garden and gin.
The first is a guided tour of New Plymouth’s Pukekura Park. Located in the heart of New Plymouth this park is a Garden of National Significance with a 5 star rating from the New Plymouth Gardens Trust and has held the International Green Flag award for nine years running. Covering 52 ha the park has an amazing range of native and exotic plants displayed in a natural setting. Also in the park are 3 fernery and display houses which have been a must-see for almost a century. A coffee and muffin or scone will be included at the Teahouse on the Lake, which overlooks the lake in the park with majestic views of Taranaki Maunga above the treetops.
Following this, enjoy a full distillery tour of JUNO Gin. JUNO’s Extra Gin is synonymous with winning awards in New Zealand and internationally, and has been chosen by the New Zealand Gin Guide as their Taster’s pick for the last two years running. The triple distilled, London-dry style gin is crafted in Taranaki by the JUNO Gin team Dave and Jo using pure New Zealand Mountain water and botanicals – fresh, local and hand selected.
