If you're compelled by a dual thirst for wine and knowledge, this small-group tour is for you.
You'll start by visiting the Edwin Fox ship — a fantastic piece of global heritage. The Edwin Fox, at Dunbar Wharf in Picton, is one of the world's oldest surviving merchant ships. She was built in Calcutta in 1853, operated as a troop ship during the Crimean War, and later carried passengers and cargo. Volunteers have worked tirelessly to restore her, using the same materials used to build her more than 150 years ago.
Next, drive through the Marlborough countryside to visit Cloudy Bay Wines. Find out why quality is their obsession, their hallmark and their promise, with acute attention to detail in all aspects of wine production. Enjoy a delightful private tasting in the Barrel Hall, with a selection of five Cloudy Bay wines.
Along the Golden Mile, head for the Marlborough Boutique Hotel & Vineyard, set amid the vines. Relax over lunch in this picturesque location before returning to Picton.
