Walk along Halifax's scenic waterfront — home to the wharves and warehouses that once formed the hub of the city's sea-based commerce. Reaching the Halifax ferry terminal, board a ferry to Dartmouth and sail the short trip across the harbor, taking in lovely cityscape views.
Snap some great waterside photos of the Halifax waterfront as your guide points out the historic naval dockyards and the Canadian Coast Guard base.
Back on dry land, tour historic Halifax and the downtown area on foot. As you walk, your guide will share details of the terrible Halifax Explosion — the largest accidental explosion in history, with a death toll of approximately 2,000 people.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
