Celebrate the cultural and historic offerings of Milan, including Leonardo da Vinci's magnificent The Last Supper.
Begin with a scenic motorcoach ride from the port to northern Italy's most fashionable city — magnificent Milan. Embark on a walking tour of the city center to the Piazza del Duomo — a showcase square and home to the world's largest Gothic cathedral that is absolutely stunning in its scale and beauty.
You'll see the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II — a gallery of shops and restaurants housed in a cross-shaped hall of dazzling proportions.
Across the street is Piazza della Scala, whose centerpiece is the pretty and surprisingly petite La Scala Opera House.
At the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, you will have the rare and great privilege to behold The Last Supper — one of the most iconic paintings in the world. Leonardo's impressive fresco (15 x 29 feet) is a puzzling and enigmatic work whose painstaking restoration took more than 22 years to complete. You will have some time to study it and contemplate its complex themes.
Conclude with an interesting ride back to the port.
