Meet Gunnar, the owner and skipper of a beautiful boat made of oak. He will introduce you to Örkin — a lovingly restored traditional fishing boat. This is your platform for this cultural tour of Iceland's northern fjords.
Climb aboard and head out toward the Siglunes Peninsula, learning about the fascinating history of the fjord en route.
Once you reach the peninsula, you'll head just a little further out to Héðinsfjörður — home to a number of hardy individuals whose life stories have taken on legendary significance.
Return to Siglufjörður through the fjord, retracing the route that fishing boats of old followed when returning after a hard day at sea.
Please note: Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
