The most remote distillery in the world, the ‘St Helena Distillery’ is one of St Helena’s secrets. The distillery uses German-made Holstein spirit distilling equipment imported and installed in 2006 and is run by Head Distiller Paul Hickling. Paul, originally from Wales is married to a St Helenian and trained in Germany. As a proficient qualified distiller, he oversees every step of the distilling process.
The delightful range of spirits and liqueurs features flavours and ingredients that are locally sourced. Guest will get to taste all 6 spirits and some wines. The St Helena Distillery is home to the spiced rum, coffee liquor, gin (exclusive to St Helena), lemon liquor and the notorious Cactus Pear Spirit Tungi which started it all.
