Victoria, named the 'Cycling Capital of Canada', is renowned as a city easily traveled on two wheels. Great cycling routes criss-cross the city.
Your route this morning has been carefully chosen avoiding uphill climbs. At Ogden Point pier your bike butler and guide will outfit you with a bicycle and safety gear that is suitable and comfortable for you.
Following a safety orientation join him/her on a leisurely two-hour circular route. Your guide will point out numerous points of political, cultural, social and historic significance, with tasting stops along the route highlighting Victoria's specialty culinary treats.
See the outside visit of Craigdarroch Castle; ride through beautiful Beacon Hill Park and the Oak Bay neighborhood. See Emily Carr House, the Empress Hotel and the majestic Parliament Building. Watch for the Royal BC Museum as you ride back with your guide to Ogden Point. Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: The ride is approximately 10 km (6 miles) with frequent sightseeing stops. Minimum age is 10 years. Participants must be able to ride a bicycle. The route may vary in the event of any road work or construction. Tour operates subject to safe riding conditions dependent upon weather and/or the ability of the participant to ride a bike. Terrain is mostly flat with few moderate hills. Bring a back pack and a rain coat for inclement weather; wear comfortable walking shoes.
