Get some exercise and see the natural beauty of Haines today. You'll gear up with a bike and set off on a scenic two-mile coastal bike ride to the Battery Point trailhead. From there, hike 1½ miles through a beautiful rainforest environment on a well-maintained trail. You'll come to a crescent of gravel beach — a great place to spot seals, sea lions, whales and many types of birds.
Hike back to your bike for a ride along the waterfront to Picture Point. As the name implies, there's a great photo-op of your ship.
Back in town, you'll stop at the Haines Brewing Company to sample locally-brewed beers (root beer and tea are also available).
Please note: Minimum age is 13 years. Minimum height is 4'6". Maximum weight is 300 lbs. Minimum age to drink alcohol is 21 years with photo ID. Participants must be comfortable biking five miles and hiking an additional three miles on uneven terrain. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed.
