Join the Expeditions Team ashore to learn about the Inuit history of Hebron and about the origins and failure of the Moravian Mission based here for almost 130 years.
In the early 19th century, the Protestant Moravian church set up several missions on Labrador's coastline to bring their faith and teachings to the local population, but in Hebron, its entire existence was fraught with catastrophe. The abandoned mission is now a National Historic Site, with many of the original buildings still standing.
Hebron's landscape is characterized by numerous islands and skerries dotting an often placid bay. Seasonal wildlife sightings here can include seals, foxes, otters, caribou, geese, eiders, mergansers, loons and harlequin ducks.
Please note: Included Expeditions cannot be booked in advance. The ship's Expeditions team will communicate finalized content and departure information. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
