The Shiant Islands' stunning cliffs and incredible basalt columns invite you to hop into a Zodiac and explore with the Expedition team. The Garbh Eilean cliffs — sheer walls of grim rock — attract enormous nest populations of Atlantic puffins, black-legged kittiwakes, northern fulmars, and razorbills. Although just a tiny archipelago, Shiant is a giant among Scotland's Outer Hebrides, with its extreme topography and its ability to attract an outrageous number of nesting seabirds. Even white-tailed eagles find what they're looking for here — remote inaccessibility for their eggs and a readily defensible position for raising their fledgling chicks.
Please note: Included Expeditions cannot be booked in advance. The ship's Expedition team will communicate finalized content and departure information. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Life jackets are provided and must be worn. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
