After an approx. 20 mins ride from the ship, start the tour by visiting Incheon Complex Fish Market. The market, comprised of hundreds of stalls, sells fresh marine products caught by local fishermen from the coast near the Yellow Sea.
Then, go to China Town which came into being with the opening of Incheon Port in 1883 and Incheon's designation as an extraterritoriality of the Ching Dynasty in the following year. In the past, the area held many stores trading goods imported from China, but currently most Chinese businesses in the area are restaurants. Today, the residents of Chinatown are mostly 2nd or 3rd generation Chinese, descendants of the early Chinese settlers. The area harbors many of the flavors of China, while the traditional culture of the first generation is preserved.
Incheon Open Port’s Modern Architecture Exhibition Hall displays what Incheon has looked like since its opening.
After lunch, explore Incheon Urban History Museum to learn about Songdo, a city built from scratch. Drop by this multilevel display center with scale models and exhibitions showing how the surrounding area has been reshaped over the years by massive land-reclamation projects.
Next, move to Songdo Central Park, a green paradise found among the crowded skyscrapers in the city. Visitors can enjoy a water taxi ride on the man-made waterway or take a stroll at the walking promenades or various themed meadows around.
Finally, visit Songdo G-tower, located at the northwest edge of the park. Songdo G-tower is at the heart of Incheon Free Economic Zone and where UN and international organizations are located. This 150m-tall Songdo landmark has sensational 360° views from its IFEZ Observatory on the 33rd floor.
