Based on Louise Penny’s best-selling mystery novel Bury your Dead; this walking tour follows in the footsteps of Chief Inspector Armand Gamache as he investigates the murder of a local amateur archeologist whose body was found in the cellar of the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec. Explore Old Quebec City’s narrow streets with our guide and see with your own eyes the places where life and work bring Armand Gamache.
Among other places from the novel, you’ll see the Literary and Historical Society Library; the site where Champlain’s remains were found; Émile Comeau’s home; and several of the locations where Inspector Gamache enjoys walking and eating. You’ll discuss with your guide the events and themes associated with the geography of the novel, and the boundary between fiction and history.
Our professional guides have college training in history, are licensed by the City of Québec and are enthusiastic readers of Gamache and his creator. Who knows, we might find Champlain together!
