Depart the pier and enjoy a narrated drive to Dublin City
You will travel to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Built in honor of Ireland's patron saint in 1190, it is not only the
largest church in Ireland, but is also said to be one of the earliest Christian site in Ireland where St.
Patrick baptized converts. The cathedral was damaged during Cromwell's invasion of Ireland in the 17th
century and was restored in the 19th century by the Guinness brewery family. Buried inside is Jonathan
Swift, author and former dean of the cathedral. Today, St. Patrick's is the National Cathedral for the
Church of Ireland (Anglican).
Next a stop will be made at Trinity College. Located deep within its walls is the Book of Kells, a 9th
century gospel manuscript of world renown. You will have a chance to view this manuscript.
Your tour concludes with a relaxing drive to the pier.
