Discover the snow-covered Arctic landscapes the way the locals do, on this adventurous, off the beaten track snowmobile ride to the North Cape.
After a short drive to the idyllic fishing village of Skarsvåg, you will meet your adventure guide who will give you a safety briefing and help you become acquainted with your exciting machine. You will test your snowmobile driving abilities as you cross a frozen lake, allowing you to practice your turns and get comfortable before setting out into the mountain and onto the iconic North Cape.
During your visit of the North Cape, your guide can show you around the facilities or you are welcome to explore on your own. The North Cape Hall features shopping facilities, a post office, chapel, bar, restaurants and a cinema with a 225-degree wide-screen. There is an audio-visual presentation of Mageroya and the North Cape, showing the magnitude of the area’s breathtaking scenery during the four seasons. Adjacent to the cinema is a Hall of Fame with models of important events that have taken place at the North Cape Plateau, and Cave of Lights with a terrace offering a view of the ocean further north.
Please note: Drivers must be 18 years of age and present a valid driver’s license. Participants must be a minimum of 8 years of age and 125cm tall. It is recommended that guests dress in layered clothing. Equipment includes a thermal suit, helmet, gloves, boots and a 2-person snowmobile. Drivers will switch at the North Cape Hall. Comfort stop available at the North Cape Hall. Available for operation Jan 15 – April 30 if the snow allows.
