For those interested in a guided walk around the town of Ísafjörður with a focus on the modern life of the local people and art, this is a perfect match.
Following a stroll around the harbor, head to Neðstikaupsstaður (the “downtown” of Ísafjörður) where you will drop in at the Westfjords Heritage Museum / Maritime Museum (Byggðasafn Vestfjarða). A taste of modern local cuisine awaits you at a popular pub where the locals go for dinner and drinks. Dropping in at the Everyday Museum, peek into the life of local people through a variety of media. The tour rounds off perfectly with the last stop at the town’s recently established microbrewery with an insight into the brewing process of our local specialty beers.
Please note: Tour requires reasonably easy walking, mainly on gravel road. It is not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. Walking/hiking shoes are essential, and it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and weather/rainproof outerwear. The tour operates in rain or shine but could be changed or cancelled by the operator in the event of terrible weather or unsuitable conditions. Kindly note that there are no restrooms on this tour.
