Enjoy a panoramic tour of some of Scotland’s most iconic countryside in the ruggedly beautiful west coast of Mull.Touring through winding country lanes, this delightful scenic route offers an overview of the island’s contrasting land and seascapes.
Above pretty Dervaig, pause for photographs of a landscape steeped in natural drama and ancient mystery. Rolling hills cradle the village below, while the distant Isle of Coll rises from the sea, its outline etched against the horizon. Just a short distance away, the Kilmore standing stones stand silent and timeless, offering a glimpse into the island’s prehistoric past. This elevated viewpoint captures the essence of Mull—wild, storied, and unforgettable.
Continue towards the west coast, pass attractive hamlets and white sandy beaches, some of which may be recognizable from the TV programs Coast and Springwatch. Stop at Calgary to see haunting ruined settlements, iron-age forts and the amazing white shell sand beach of Calgary Bay which make this one of the most photographed places on the Isle of Mull. Stop here for photos and some free time to wander the beach before returning to Tobermory on a southerly route via Achnacraig.
