Chef Richard Knobloch meets you at Puerto Montt to begin this special trip of discovering the ethnic fusion of native ingredients in creative food preparation.
Begin at the Ibañez Market, known for its wide variety of local fresh fish and seafood, as well as an array of ethnic ingredients and vegetables. Richard will pick up the best ingredients, such as mussels, fish and mushrooms, needed to prepare lunch. Then,driving north, away from the picturesque port city of Puerto Montt, you'll make your way through gorgeous agricultural valleys, past snow-covered volcanoes.
Reaching Puerto Varas, you'll step inside a restaurant here for an aperitif. Richard prepares a three-course lunch or dinner while you watch, and you are welcome to join in the cooking if you wish. The dishes showcase local ingredients and cooking techniques, always taking advantage of the fresh seasonal produce available.
After your delicious, authentically local meal, you will return to Puerto Montt.
