See the island of Barbados on this panoramic drive.

Begin your journey along the historic west coast; then, you will head inland past sugar cane fields, villages, churches and plantations before descending onto the east coast of Barbados. There are amazing views ahead -- a rugged landscape and the Atlantic Ocean tumbling ashore.

You will stop in Bathsheba for a stroll along the beach and an opportunity to take a few breathtaking photos.

Visit St John's Parish Church, perched on a cliff at 800 feet above sea level, overlooking coastal St John and the ocean. The present-day building was built in 1836, after the original 1660 construction was destroyed by a hurricane in 1831. The pulpit is made of six different types of wood -- ebony, locust, Barbados mahogany, manchineel, oak and pine. The church also contains an interesting sculpture depicting the Madonna and Child with the infant St John. The graveyard surrounding the church contains the tomb of Ferdinand Paleologus -- a descendent of the Byzantine Imperial family -- who died in Barbados in 1678 after being a resident for more than 20 years.

Continue to Sunbury, where you will visit a superb example of a Barbadian Sugar Estate Great House. Sunbury Plantation House, located in the tranquil St Philip parish countryside, is a living monument to plantation life of a bygone era. The house has been carefully restored and lovingly cherished by its owners for posterity and for the enjoyment of generations to come. Not only will you enjoy exploring the greathouse, but you will also enjoy a light deli-style lunch here.

Conclude your excursion with a drive back to your ship.

Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
