A ten-minute walk from the ship brings you to the Zodiac pier. You're headed out on a scenic cruise through the splendid Sept-Iles archipelago -- a region recognized as one of the five best places in the world to see whales. Each of the archipelago's islands has distinctive features. As you zip across the water, enjoy the surrounding natural beauty and keep an eye out for the local marine- and birdlife.

You'll navigate around Manowin Island, which owes its name to the Innu word meaning 'where we collect eggs'. The island is known for its bird-nesting cliffs and limestone rock formations. You'll also pass by Petite Basque and Grande Basque, named in honor of the Basque people that came to the region to hunt for more than a hundred years.

Along the way, you'll discover interesting facts and learn of the shipwrecks in the area -- Le Corossol and the Jean-Marc Soucy .

Please note: A degree of agility is required for boarding the Zodiac. Ride will be bumpy. Pregnant women or guests with back or neck conditions are not allowed to participate. Lifejackets and foul-weather gear are provided and must be worn. Itinerary may vary due to sea, weather and wind conditions. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
