Information is not currently available.
Approximately 3 Hours
Sept-Iles is located at around latitude 50 degrees. Its Boreal climate is characterized by long, usually very cold winters, and short, cool-to-mild summers. A warm welcome, an enchanting site, and a delectable product are what the Ferme Maricole Purmer is all about. Come taste the bounty of seafood that thrives in the sub-Arctic ocean.
Your journey begins with a crossing via inflatable boat to Ile Grosse-Boule, where the Purmer Aqua Farm raises blue mussels and scallops on one of the seven islands forming the Sept-Iles archipelago. During the crossing, the captain will entertain you with stories about the environment, the landscape and wildlife interpretation.
On site, explore the world of marine farming. Docking at the farm's pier, you will head to the reception cottage for a seafood tasting.
Take a walk to the lookout point that features an unobstructed view of the archipelago and city. If you prefer to relax in the sea air, you will be able to enjoy the site from the cottage, yurts, beach or forest.
Keep your eyes on the water in case a whale comes to greet you.
It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion. Outer layer should be waterproof and windproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
