Pre-Cruise Itinerary Overview (8 days, 7 nights):

DAY ONE After arrival at Yangon, visit the 2,500-year-old Shwedagon Pagoda to see its gold-plated, jewel-encrusted stupa in the setting sun, and take part in lighting the 1,000 ritual oil lamps. Meals: D

DAY TWO Discover two of Yangon’s treasures. The 230-foot Reclining Buddha statue and the magnificent carved Lion’s Throne decorated with inlaid gold and delicate lacquer. Then fly from Yangon to Bagan, and check in to the Aureum Palace Hotel. Meals: B/L/D

DAY THREE Float over thousands of stupas in a hot-air balloon, visit the Shwezigon Pagoda, the Kubyaukgyi Temple and Ananda Temple, and ride in a horse cart to watch the sunset from the tall Thatbyinnyu Temple. Meals: B/L/D

DAY FOUR Attend the festive novitiation ceremony of a boy entering a monastery, visit the Htilominlo Temple, the last “Burman-style” temple built here, and tour a lacquerware workshop to see works produced. Meals: B/L/D

DAY FIVE Fly to Inle Lake and visit by boat the gold-leaf Buddhas at Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and the Ngaphechaung Monastery on stilts over the lake. Also view the unique waterborne life of Lake Inle’s residents. Meals: B/L/D

DAY SIX See colorful hill tribes people in a market, enjoy a Shan-style cooking lesson and visit a stilted village to see ikat-style silk weaving, blacksmithing, traditional cigar rolling, and boat-building. Meals: B/L/D

DAY SEVEN After breakfast, fly from Heho airport to Yangon and onward to Singapore. Overnight at the Four Seasons Hotel. Meals: B/L

DAY EIGHT After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Singapore, visiting the Botanical Gardens, Chinatown, Merlion Park, and Little India before arrival at the pier. Meals: B
